She is lecturer in Social Sciences and the responsible for the Community of Sant'Egidio for services to immigrants, refugees and Roma.
She has received numerous international prizes and awards for her commitment to reception, protection and integration. She is the promoter and coordinator of the 'Humanitarian Corridors', a project implemented by the Community of Sant'Egidio in various European countries.
From 2016 to date, the project, which was launched for the first time in Italy thanks to the collaboration with the Federation of Evangelical Churches in Italy, the Tavola Valdese and the Italian Bishops' Conference, has already allowed the arrival in Europe of 7,000 refugees in a situation of serious fragility from Lebanon (mainly Syrians), the Horn of Africa, Greece, Cyprus, Libya and Afghanistan and, from February 2022, from Ukraine.
