[1953]

He became a Buddhist monk when he was very young and moved to France as head of the Bagneux pagoda.

In 1986, he participated in the inter-religious prayer meeting for peace convened by John Paul II in Assisi. Since then, he has remained faithful to the spirit of Assisi, participating in numerous peace meetings organised by the Community of Sant'Egidio.

One of the promoters of the Mission Cambodgienne pour la paix, he played an important role for peace in his country, ravaged by wars and by the Khmer Rouge regime.
