In 1993 he founded the geopolitics magazine 'Limes', of which he is Director. He is considered one of the leading Italian experts in geopolitics. A columnist for La Repubblica, La Stampa and other Italian and European newspapers, he teaches Strategic Studies at the LUISS Guido Carli University and Geopolitics at the Vita e Salute - San Raffaele University. He directs the "School of Geopolitics and Governance" founded by the magazine.
